Overview
Kids play area
Playground surfacing is a safety product first. We set the SBR depth against the critical fall height of each piece of equipment, then pour a colour-through EPDM wear layer so there is no trip edge and no joint to kick up. A decorative band at toddler thickness under a 3 m slide is the wrong specification.

Thickness by zone
Toddler areas, fall zones and pathways are different pours. One depth for the whole pad is how these surfaces fail.

Seamless
Wet pour around every leg and edge. No tile joint to become a trip in the first summer.

Colour that is structural
House colours, hopscotch and wayfinding are poured in. They are not paint on a thin mix.

Drains with the pad
A play area that holds water is closed after rain. Falls and outlets are in the same drawing as the equipment.
