The challenge
The existing ground held water for days after rain and the site had no perimeter drainage. Community leagues could not be scheduled with any confidence.
Our solution
We rebuilt the raft entirely: sub-soil drainage on a herringbone layout, 180 mm graded aggregate, laser-levelled binder and a 60 mm monofilament system with performance infill. Floodlighting was modelled to 300 lux with U1 of 0.62.
The outcome
Playing hours rose from roughly 40 to over 100 per week. Post-rain turnaround dropped from three days to under an hour.
